![]() ![]() However, if you live in a somewhat populated area you can always sell/trade it down the line. It is fairly common for people to put a strip of the soft side of velcro along the right of the return ramp to slow the ball return down a little and prevent the ball from jumping the ramp. ![]() The loud buzz/hum is a grounding issue somewhere that can be fixed, but it is hard to hunt down and not a deal breaker.Īs to the habitrail return and the ball wanting to jump the ramp. So long as the shot is makeable you are fine. As to the wear around the T-Rex scoop, that is normal on this machine. but if it doesn't affect gameplay it doesn't really matter. ![]() You will be stuck with that crack in the ramp. It is normal to hear the motor when moving left to right. I have owned all four of those machines, and loved Jurassic Park as a great bang for your buck machine. I do enjoy the machine (and the theme!), and so do my kids, so maybe this could be it? That's just the nature of pinball prices right now, and who knows if they will continue to rise, level out, or drop in the future. Thanks!ĮDIT Thank you to everyone who replied! I agree, the price seems a little high, but honestly I haven't seen this machine for much cheaper anywhere. But it's quite a bit cheaper than a $7,000 new Stern machine, as much as I might love something like that. I don't know about longevity of a machine like this, and I know it doesn't have the depth of play a Stern Jurassic Park or Godzilla has. Would this be a decent first pinball to have? Our family does love Jurassic Park, and I have two teenagers who seem quite interested. Somewhat frustrating, but maybe that's just an adjustment thing? We put about 4 or 5 games in on it, and I noticed the pinball wanted to jump off the wireform ramp (habitrail?) that goes across the middle if you hit the ramp fairly hard, and it jumped out of the end multiple times, sometimes ending up in play, once going straight to the outlane. There is a fairly loud buzz/hum that seems related to what's being displayed on the DMD, but I hear that's normal for some Data East games. There is some wear around the T-Rex scoop/kickout, and as far as I know, there isn't a protector that can cover all of that. The big plastic ramp does have a crack in the back, but the pinball never goes there. Very nice playfield, the T-Rex works well, no issue eating balls, but it's motor is pretty darn loud for the side to side movement. I have the opportunity to purchase a Data East Jurassic Park locally for $4250. I have been looking to purchase our first pinball machine for a little over 2 months now, haven't really found much I was interested in (top of the wishlist being World Cup Soccer, Whirlwind, Lord of the Rings) Even in this case, it is the sole discretion of moderators to decide what is appropriate for this community.
